Three men accused of being in possession and transporting saddle wood without permit were yesterday arraigned before the Kapenguria Resident Magistrate court.
Mwanga Akim, Titus Kibet and Joseph Mwachang were jointly accused that on the 25th day of January 2016 at Mokoria location of Kasei division within West Pokot County were found in possession and transporting saddle wood without permit, using motor vehicle registration number UAU 605C
“The offence is Contrary to section 99(1) and punishable under section 99(3) as read with section 1(a) of the Wildlife conservation managed Act of 2013.” Read the resident Magistrate.
The accused persons who pleaded not quilt were release on a bond of Ksh. 200,000 each with the Kenya surety of similar amount.

The resident magistrate, Phoebe Kulecho directed the motor vehicle together with its content to be detained at Kapenguria KWS office pending the hearing and determination of the matter.
The mention of the case will be on the 5th, of February, 2016 and hearing on 21st, March, 2016.
