Politicians warned against sabotaging peace
OCPD Likuyani Meshack Kiptum Kemboi has sternly warned politicians and aspiring candidates for elective posts in the next years general elections from Likuyani Sub County against sabotaging peace and creating unbearable environment during their campaigns.
This comes after suspected robbers invaded the ODM youth leader Christopher Mbala’s home and raped his two wives while walking away with other valuables in a suspected revenge mission.
According to one of the youth leaders wives Linet Shikuku who spoke with us, they were woken up by people they had no idea of at around 3. am who harassed them until 4:30 am without help.
She said the suspects knocked the door tied their hands and mouth as the directly pointed in their eyes with a torch distracting their sight and packed their belongings before raping them and leaving.
Linet said on the attacking spree they were asked where their husband was before harassing them something they suspect must be associated with politics as their husband walks with high profiled politicians from the area.
She however want the government to intervene and take stern action to anyone who will be arrested.
The OCPD Mr. Kiptum assured them of investigations to arrest those behind the ill motive as he assured the residents of security to curb incidents of attacks and terror.
On elections and campaigns Kiptum wanted the candidates to preach peace amongst each other other than indulging in attacks that could not help them in any way.
He however asked the aspirants to go slow on their missions and waiting for official time IEBC will announce and give a go ahead of official campaigns.
Kiptum said we are one people, one tribe one Kenya and people should not be easily swayed away by cheap buying’s to indulge in personal attacks and hate speech
He said if a candidate is loved by his/her people they will automatically be elected and given the opportunity to serve them.
He asked the residents to participate in developmental projects and do away with politicians or people with ill motives of distracting peace.
In other news property worthy thousands of shillings was razed down after fire whose cause remains unknown broke up in Kavulika village Munyuki division Lugari sub county as the owner of the house with his grandson escaped death at a whisker.
According to mzee Fred Onzego he was deep asleep before being awoken up by his grandson aged 10 who was overwhelmed by the excess heat and explained to him that their house was on fire
The two managed to escape by jumping outside but nothing was saved from the inferno despite the endless efforts from the neighbors who were overpowered by the fire.
