Henry Kosgey, the former industrialization Minister and a long serving MP for Tindiret constituency has blamed the Nandi county government for the embezzlement of county funds despite being budgeted for annually saying the people of Nandi have nothing to smile at.
While addressing a congregation at St. Peters Catholic church in Kapsabet during a fund raising drive for the completion of the church structure, Kosgey blamed the Nandi County government for failing to fulfill its mandate.
He said the county has not delivered on its performance as there is no developments done at all adding that the health sector in Nandi is in a pathetic state as there are no drugs despite being budgeted for.
He revealed that Nandi county down the line of the three years of devolution have received a total of Ksh. 20 billion for the health sector but the money is being misused as there is nothing tangible done in the hospitals.
The former Minister called on Nandi residents to carefully mull over their choices of leaders they will decide to elect to cater for the needs of the county next term.
He also urged parents to support their children’s education, saying education is the greatest empowerment gift and that the youth must focus on education to develop further and be adequately empowered.
He reiterated the need to have all schools in the county well equipped and supported fully, in order for the learners to realize their dreams.
