An Administration Police officer at Chepareria AP post in West Pokot County has been stabbed to death by a suspected Kenya police reservist officer.
Confirming the incident, West Pokot County Commissioner, Wilson Wanyanga said that on Sunday early morning, APC Abdi Salat and Dennis Tubei who were on night sentry received two suspected motorcycle thieves, KPR William Kochalem and KPR David Ronatame at the report desk.
APC Abdi salat was left with the two suspects and the KPR officers while recording their statement as Apc Dennis Tubei rushed to inform Sergeant Nelson Musumba on the matter.
On their way back, APC Dennis Tubei and sergeant Musumba heard Apc Abdi Salat screaming that he had been stabbed.
“The officer seemed to have been stabbed from behind and when his two colleagues arrived, they found him lying on the floor bleeding,” Said Wanyanga.
The robbery suspects and the KPR officers escaped using the motorbikes immediately after the incident.
The AP officer was rushed to Chepareria health centre where he was declared dead after over bleeding.
The four suspects were later arrested and taken to Kapenguria police station for interrogation as Abdi’s body was taken to Kapenguria county hospital mortuary.

The County commissioner said that it was an isolated incident because he has never heard of a KPR officer being involved in such an incident.
“We cannot generalize that all KPR forces are bad. This is the first time I’ve heard a KPR officer has been involved in murder. If he is found guilty after investigations, he will be treated like any other criminal,” said Wanyanga.
