While addressing mourners in Lwandanyi during the burial of Steven Cheteka Timbiti, Changamwe OCPD, Wycliffe Wangamati revealed how disillusioned he is with the increased corruption in the national government and the county government of Bungoma.
“I think you’ve all heard about corruption that is spread in the government, both the national and county governments, we are totally disappointed with it and someone will tell you that all is well in the government, what a shame,” said Wangamati.
However, Wangamati urged Jubilee leaders from Bungoma County to join Ford Kenya Party stating that Ford Kenya is the party that is renown in the region, and he condemned those promoting Jubilee manifestos in Bungoma.
“Our people know that we have our party and we want to choose our own, leave alone with those who are lying to you about Jubilee and yet they are the ones who are benefitting, what are you gaining from Jubilee Party?” he asked. “Stop being cheated every now and then but decide which party to join, and it is none other than Ford Kenya,” he added, “As I speak today all of us are taxpayers, therefore let nobody tell you to join the Jubilee government before gaining or enjoying its fruits,” reiterated Wangamati
His first wife Hellen Mutenyo Timbiti explained how she received her husband’s death news with great shock. She then praised him for being loving, ready to listen and responsible. However, she urged relatives to be close to them to give pieces of advice that are constructive and not to divide the family.
“I was shocked when I received news of the death of my husband since I had talked to him previous evening, I could not believe!” exclaimed Mrs. Cheteka. “My husband loved his family and he ensured that everything is done how he wants, besides him being an OCPD, he was a great farmer, something he taught me and has enabled me to be what I am since he married me,” she stated.
Jackline Naliaka Timbiti, the second wife, expressed how she had lost the love of her life.
“My husband was the love of my life, a loving and responsible dad to our children, I still have children in school, I, therefore urge the police administration to think of how they can help me. If they can reinstate one of our children in his job I will appreciate,” she said.
Friends and relatives eulogized the deceased as a very hard working man that loved his family and he was an education advocate.
