Kenya National Union of Teachers Teso Branch Executive Secretary Deogratius Owaya has appealed to President Uhuru Kenyatta and Deputy President William Ruto to stamp their authority in order to tame corruption in the Country.
Addressing the press in Busia Tuesday, Owaya said the teachers have joined right thinking Kenyans in condemning rampant corruption in the country.
“President Kenyatta and DP Ruto should take charge and expose those culpable in myriad corruption scandals that continue to rock the country unabated under their watch. There are no sacred cows in matters of corruption. Millions of taxpayers’ money continues to be siphoned by a few individuals. I know it is possible to stop this vice,” he said.
Presidents John Pombe Magufuli of Tanzania, Paul Kagame (Rwanda) and Muhammadu Buhari (Nigeria) are miles away in tackling corruption in their countries.
“Uhuru and Ruto can emulate the three presidents to curtail corruption which has continued to taint the image of the country,” he said.
