There was a lot of confusion in Nandi after Kiswahili and Insha papers for Kapsabet Boys High school and St Joseph’s girls High School Chepterit went missing.
Speaking to West Media in his office, the County Director of Education for Nandi Dr. Onesmus Ochumo Anyang confirmed that Wednesday’s papers for Kapsabet Boys High School and St Joseph’s Girls High School Chepterit were not in the container during the opening at 5.00 AM, and they had to contact the KNEC offices for clarification.
He, however, said its possible there was confusion during packing, because the Exams team in Kericho County, while opening their container, found a carton that had examination papers meant for the two schools, and they informed KNEC offices immediately.
The Education Director said they had to release exam papers to other examination centers except for the two affected schools as they waited for the right action to be done.
“The exam papers were taken to Nandi from Kericho under tight security and were received at around 8.30 AM in the morning,” he said.
He added that the problem has been sorted out and the exams are going on smoothly in the County. The exams which started on Monday are going on smoothly in other parts of the country.
