Bungoma nominated MCA Martin Wanyonyi Pepela has criticized the planning of games at the Sub County level

Bungoma county nominated MCA Martin Wanyonyi Pepela has Education, Youths and Sports CEC over the planning of county games in the Sub County level. While addressing mourners in Ndivisi ward, Wanyonyi said that during the same county games on the ward level, played during April, the games were never completed and the teams were never selected as it was supposed to be, and he wondered how the Sub County teams were formed because they were supposed to be combined at the ward level, the Sub County level and finally advance to the County level.

“Am surprised to see that there will be Sub County ball games sponsored by the County, yet we are aware that the Ward games were never completed in April so which criteria did the CEC Mrs Mutekhele and her team use to get the teams that are going to play in the Sub County games. And where is the money which was meant to cater for the April games?” asked Pepela.

Wanyonyi has asked the CEC and her team to explain to the youths of Bungoma county if it’s their talent they are nurturing or if they just want to complete the budgetary allocation they were given as a ministry.

He claimed that most youths in the county are idling at home and asked the ministry to utilize this time and nurture talents in sports so that they can make the cut in the County teams which will be able to compete favourably. This will, in turn, provide an opportunity for talented youths from within the county to join national league teams.
