According to the victim, the two engaged in a bitter altercation when his passenger refused to pay the sum of money allegedly agreed upon earlier before the boda boda services were offered.
“I accepted to take him from Lumama village to Lumakanda centre and back after we had amicably settled on Kshs 250 as service fee,” revealed Achwanya, further disclosing his client was visiting a girlfriend who stays at Lumakanda.
“He, however, reneged on the agreement and instead offered to pay me Kshs 150, hence precipitating a bitter exchange between us,” he added.
It was claimed the passenger bit off Achwanya’s left ear and ran away.
Achwanya limped to a nearby homestead where the owner administered some first aid before he was rushed to Lumakanda County hospital and later on Webuye Sub County hospital for specialized treatment.
The incident attracted the attention of area locals who stormed out of their homesteads and embarked on a manhunt for the runaway suspect. It is alleged by a reliable source the suspect was caught and roughly harassed by the crowd.
