Kenyan international footballer and former AFC Leopards attacker Clifton Miheso has filed a complaint to FIFA regarding his forced contract termination at South African side Golden Arrows. According to Miheso, who has 14 caps for Kenya and has scored five goals, he was forced to terminate his contract at gunpoint in a revealing interview with BBC.
He said that the incident happened in the office of the club’s CEO in January 14, 2017. After informing him of his contract termination, he was forced to sign the deal, after two men wielding guns entered the office. “They looked like they were lost, and I thought they would ask for assistance,” he said, adding that they forced him to sign the termination deal while the CEO just looked on. After signing, the two men left without saying a word. He said he recorded a statement with the police on the same day, citing that he was really terrified.
The former AFC Leopards star later joined Zambian team Buildicon FC, and he featured for the team in a friendly against TP Mazembe. Miheso wants sanctions placed on his former club Golden Arrows, and wants the club to pay him an accumulative amount of over $22,000 he says the club owes him.
