The County government of Nandi is set to employ Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE) teachers on a permanent and pensionable basis in the next financial year.
This is according to Nandi governor Dr Cleophas Lagat, the County government through the Ministry of Education and vocational training has put in place new measures set to transform early childhood education sector in the county.
Lagat revealed that the 860 Early Childhood Development Education teachers from across the entire county of Nandi will be confirmed on a permanent basis in a move aimed at enhancing service delivery and quality education.
The governor, who was accompanied by his deputy Dominic Biwot and Education CEC Rosemary Korir, said he purposes to employ more teachers in order to lay down a strong foundation for the kids.
He added that the County government has so far constructed more than one hundred and twenty ECDE centers across Nandi and will continue doing so.
He was speaking during an ECDE teachers meeting held at Kapsabet showground which brought together 860 teachers from across Nandi.
