Busia County Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Youth League has appealed to Busia residents to embrace peace ahead of the party nominations.
Addressing the press in Busia Town, the Youth League chairman, Engineer James Anyango cautioned his members not to be used by politicians to destroy the county’s resources.
“I am deeply concerned and saddened by the scale of violence out of the nominations campaigns are attracting. Ultimately it is us who will suffer the most,” he said “We condemn in the strongest terms possible acts of lawlessness. We should embrace peace throughout the process,” he said.
The Vice Chairman Stephen Bunyasi called upon Governor Sospeter Ojaamong’s and Paul Otuoma’s supporters to co-exist and achieve Busia County’s mission of a strong economy and prosperity.
Majority Leader in the Busia County Assembly, Josephat Wandera denied allegations that Paul Otuoma is facilitating youths to cause chaos in the County and asked ODM election board to see to it that the elections are free and fair and that all contestants are happy with the exercise.
