NASA presidential candidate and ODM leader Raila Odinga has said NASA wants to use power to serve the people of Kenya, and not to misuse it as Jubilee leaders have suggested, “Jubilee wants power to monopolize, to oppress our people, while NASA wants to share power and use power to serve the people of Kenya,” said Raila Odinga, adding that the difference of power between Jubilee and NASA is clear like ‘day and night.’ As he accepted his candidature and mandate as the presidential candidate, ODM leader Raila Odinga insisted he will work jointly with other principals to deliver victory, “I humbly accept the mandate to proceed and cement alliances with Wiper, FORD-Kenya, ANC and CCM in my capacity as a joint opposition candidate.”
He said he will embark on politics of honour, integrity, decency and honesty, insisting that the party deal made will stand, “We will disabuse the notion that political deals are made to be broken,” he said. He urged the ODM aspirants who lost during the party primaries to put the nomination defeats behind them, “Let us close ranks now as members of one party. Let’s turn our eyes on the prize,” he said. The ODM leader said that they’ll respect the decision of those who have decided to vie on independent tickets, “We’ll respect their right to do so as it is in line with the constitution that ODM has worked so hard to bring to fruition.”
