A 27-year-old woman collapsed and died during police recruitment exercise at Pan Paper grounds in Webuye East Sub County, Bungoma County. Nipher Wamocho collapsed immediately after physical exercise; she was rushed to Webuye Sub County Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.
Confirming the incident, National Police Service Commission Chairman Johnstone Kavuludi said that it was unfortunate for Ms Wamocho to die while ready to serve her country. “It is unfortunate that we have lost one of the aspiring recruits by the name Nipher Wamocho from Lugusi village, we have already informed her parents and therefore we are sending our message of condolence to her family,” said Kavuludi
The exercise was conducted in the whole country where 10,000 officers are to be recruited.
Kenyans who scored D plus and above in KCSE and they are between the age of 18 and 28 are to undergo the exercise.
Those that will qualify will undergo nine-month training at Kenya Police Kiganjo Training College and Embakasi Administration Police Training College.
