A 45-year-old primary school deputy headteacher was today morning found dead near his home by villagers in Jiruani Village, Banja location in Hamisi Sub County. It is said the teacher Elvis Anyolo was out on a drinking spree with friends before unknown people attacked and killed him.
The deceased was a former deputy head teacher at Kimarani Primary school in Hamisi Sub County. Before then, he was a teacher at Kabinjari primary school before he was transferred to take his new role as a deputy head teacher.
According to one of his relatives Ebbis Songole, the deceased had deep cuts on his head and alleged that he might have been killed somewhere before being dumped near his home.
“I suspect that the deceased was killed somewhere before being dragged here. There is nothing peculiar to show that he was killed here,” said a teary Songole.
Area chief Harun Mbere who confirmed the incident at the scene said police have launched investigations into the matter to ascertain the truth.
He said the body of the deceased has been removed by the police to Kaimosi Jumuia Hospital mortuary for post-mortem.
The area villagers who are in a sombre mood have asked the police to speed up the investigations and boost security in the area to avert such tragedies.
