A media release survey by Ipsos says 71% of Kenyans believe the country is going in the wrong direction. However, while addressing the media in Nairobi, Ipsos lead researcher Tom Wolf noted that there is a considerable opinion gap between NASA and Jubilee supporters, “We see a bigger contrast between supporters of Jubilee and NASA, even if a very small majority of Jubilee supporters, 52% of them say it’s going in a wrong direction, the gap between the 92% of NASA supporters is much bigger.” He said that the people who are
He said that the people who are convinced that the country is moving in the right direction listed several sectors they think are a factor. They listed infrastructure, which was the most sector mentioned, then leadership, followed by education sector and the cost of living. 8% from this group stated that the cost of living is a clear sign that Kenya is on a right path. However, this is a clear contrast with 68% of Kenyans who think the cost of living is a clear sign Kenya is heading in the wrong direction.
Furthermore, the research indicated that the popularity between President Uhuru Kenyatta and NASA presidential candidate Raila Odinga is tight at the moment. President Uhuru Kenyatta’s popularity stands at 47% while Raila Odinga’s is 42%, 8% indicate that they are undecided.
