Nandi Senator Stephen Sang has been cleared by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to vie for Nandi gubernatorial seat in the August general elections. Sang who was accompanied by his political colleagues from across the entire county of Nandi was cleared yesterday in the afternoon.
Senator Sang, who is the Jubilee nominee for the gubernatorial seat in Nandi while speaking with the press after the exercise, said he was happy that he had been cleared. He urged Nandi residents to support him when the time comes, saying he will work with them as a team, and that his government will involve everybody.
He urged his fellow politicians to conduct their campaigns well and to uphold peace and tolerance all the time.
All the aspiring members of parliament, including the ones currently holding positions, were cleared at the constituency level to vie for their posts. Those cleared in Emgwen constituency include the incumbent Alex Kosgey of Jubilee and three independent candidates, that is Wilfred Bungei, Isaiah Gesicho and Meshack Kimutai.
Wilson Kogo of Jubilee was one of the candidates cleared to vie for the post in Chesumei constituency while in Mosop, Vincent Tuwei of Jubilee was cleared for the post.
