Busia Governor Sospeter Ojaamong has made changes in his Cabinet that saw the retention of Deputy Governor Kizito Wangalwa who withdrew his participation as Ojaamong’s running mate.
In the cabinet reshuffle he made on Monday during a press conference in his office, the Governor retained Wangalwa who also doubles up as the CEC in charge of Economic Development, Trade, Cooperatives and Industrialization.
Governor Ojaamong also retained Wangalwa’s Chief Officer James Akedi. Other changes affected the Department of Lands, Housing and Urban Development. CEC for Youth, Sports, Tourism, Culture and Social Services Martin Kafwa has taken the docket in an acting capacity. He replaces Bernadette Muyomi who resigned recently citing personal reasons.
Chief Officer for Public Works, Transport, Roads and Energy Moses Weunda has also taken over from the ailing Timon Mboga at the Water Department but in an acting capacity.
CEC for Public Works Bernard Yaite will also oversee the operations of the Department of Water but in an acting capacity. He replaces Gregory Odeke who resigned to seek for a parliamentary seat in Teso North Constituency on an independent ticket. Other Departments remained unchanged.
