Jubilee leaders have laughed off NASA’s claim that they’ll amass 10 million votes in the upcoming general, saying the opposition outfit can’t achieve that target. The leaders, led by West Pokot Governor Simon Kachapin have faulted the opposition for lacking an agenda for Kenyans, adding they intend to change the constitution to award themselves leadership positions.
The West Pokot County Governor was accompanied by Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen, and Kericho Senator Aaron Cheruiyot during Jubilee campaigns at Surumben Village in West Pokot. They said the NASA leaders were only playing mind games by proposing fictitious figures. Senator Murkomen castigated NASA for posting imaginary figures to give their supporters false hope.“They should stop this cheap propaganda. They have no plan, agenda or idea and have agenda to build such like Wei
“They should stop this cheap propaganda. They have no plan, agenda or idea,” he said “They can’t govern this country because they’ve no capacity to transform the nation,” he said.
Murkomen said that the Jubilee government development initiatives have contributed to peace among the Marakwet and Pokot communities.
Kericho Senator Aaron Cheruiyoit said Jubilee’s development agenda for Kenyans has forced many voters, especially those in opposition strongholds to reconsider their stand, “Many people, especially in the areas perceived to be opposition strongholds have now defected to Jubilee and we wonder where are the 10 million votes our colleagues in NASA are talking about,” said Cheruiyot.
Senator Cheruyoit said Jubilee has initiated various development projects in West Pokot that can transform lives especially in the fields of education, health, and infrastructure.
West Pokot Governor Simon Kachapin said Opposition Nasa cannot marshal 10 million votes it claims to win the August 8 poll and is playing with the psychology of Kenyans by declaring fictitious figures as their support.
Governor Kachapin called for peaceful campaigns ahead of the general elections and urged the government to tighten security in the whole country during this electioneering period.
