A new poll by Infotrak has revealed that Bungoma Governor Kenneth Lusaka is ahead of his rivals in the Bungoma gubernatorial race ahead of the August polls. According to the findings, 52.2% of respondents say they would vote for the incumbent Governor Lusaka who is vying on a Jubilee ticket, while 31.9% would vote for Ford Kenya’s Wycliffe Wangamati. Alfred Khang’ati who is vying on an ODM ticket garnered 5.2% support.
In the Bungoma Senatorial race, Ford Kenya leader and NASA co-principal Moses Wetangula is ahead of his opponents with 58.6%. Jubilee’s Eusebius Mukhwana comes second with 8.7%, 7.8% would vote for Boniface Nyongesa.
According to the polls, two other sitting Governors hold an advantage over their rivals, Turkana’s Josphat Nanok and Embu’s Martin Wambora. Turkana Governor Josphat Nanok leads with 77.7%, ahead of Jubilee’s John Munyes, whose popularity stands at 14.3%. Embu Governor Martin Wambora has 48.4% ahead of his opponent Lenny Kivuti, who has 26.2%
