The elected Members of County Assembly in Nandi were on Monday taken through an orientation process to familiarize with the rules and regulations of the house. Led by the County clerk Mr. Barnabas Kosgey, members were given directions on how proceedings in the chamber work, and he urged them to work together as a team to ensure they accomplish the requirements of a County assembly.
The Members of County Assembly were also urged to observe decorum, uphold high standards of integrity and use standard language fit for the assembly.
He further informed members that they will be taken through an induction exercise immediately after swearing in, and select house committees after the swearing in of the County Speaker and the Deputy Speaker.
The Nandi MCAs will take an oath of office on Thursday and thereafter, elect the County Assembly Speaker together with the Deputy Speaker.
Gender diversity was the key result and main highlight in the election of Members of County Assembly after the August elections in the County, given that six women MCAs were elected out of the thirty wards in Nandi.
