Jubilee leaders from West Pokot County have urged IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati to declare President Uhuru Kenyatta the winner in the repeat presidential poll. The leaders said that the voting pattern in the country has indicated that President Kenyatta is the most preferred choice for Kenyans.
Pokot South member of parliament Mr. David Pkossing and his Kapenguria counterpart Mr. Samuel Moroto said the results of the 4 Counties among the 47 which didn’t participate in the repeat elections are insignificant.
They observed that the polls were free and fair. “The elections were peaceful in this County and the voter turnout was more than sixty percent even though many residents had migrated to Uganda in search of pasture and water,” said Pkossing.
He castigated opposition leader Raila Odinga over his recent remarks to change NASA to a resistance movement. Speaking to the press in Kapenguria, the legislators further urged NASA Presidential Candidate Raila Odinga to retire from active politics.
“For us, we are neighbours to Uganda and we understand what a resistance movement is,” said Pkossing.
Mr. Moroto said the move by the Chief Justice David Maraga to participate in the polls shows that the process is credible.
