A total of Twenty Four needy students from A.C.K Kapsabet diocese have benefited from the church school fees kitty to further their education.
Speaking at st Barnabas Anglican church of Kenya Kapsabet during the disbursement of the funds, Kapsabet Diocese Bishop Paul Korir said the church saw it good to set aside a kitty for needy Anglican students to enable them to pursue their education.
A total of Kshs 300,000 were dispersed to 24 students each getting 10,000 shillings.
Korir revealed that education is the only weapon anybody can use to change the world and eradicate poverty in the society thus there is much need in finding ways of sponsoring/supporting those from poor family backgrounds undertake education.
He applauded the efforts made by several banks in Kenya in supporting needy students partake their education and achieve their dreams urging the banks to continue offering a helping hand to them.
Furthermore, the Bishop congratulated the efforts made by Education cabinet Secretary Dr Fred Matiang’i in reforming the education sector saying is pleased by his work thus urged him to bring more reforms to the ministry.
He insisted that year’s exams were done with few cases of irregularities and that the results demonstrate that we must work together.
