Vihiga County Government has allocated Ksh1.5 Billion to revamp the health sector in the County.
Speaking at Vihiga County Referral Hospital during the annual general meeting, the area Deputy Governor Dr. Patrick Saisi said the health sector has been in shambles and it needed more attention.
He added that the funds will be used to improve the infrastructure in the health facilities and acquire more drugs.
The Deputy Governor noted that most of the funds will be used to buy modern medical equipment’s in all facilities across the County.
“The County Government through the Ministry of Health is determined to improve health care and that’s why we have allocated most of the funds to the health sector”, Said Saisi.
He said, the Ministry has allocated Ksh100 Million for the construction of the Doctors Plaza at Vihiga County Referral Hospital.
Saisi advised residents to seek free medical services from the Dispensaries before being referred to the County Referral Hospital.
