Youth have been warned against being used by selfish politicians to cause chaos during the election period. Vihiga governor Moses Akaranga said most unemployed youth are being used by politicians to create chaos during political rallies organized by rivals.
“Let us campaign peacefully and avoid using the youth to disrupt rallies organized by other political leaders especially in their home turf,” said Akaranga.
Akaranga appealed to the youth to be calm and ensure they are not misused in the coming party nominations and august 8 elections.
“I have realized that youth are being misused by my rivals to cause chaos in my political meetings. Let them campaign peacefully and propagate their policy to the electorates,” said Akaranga.
The governor was addressing the public yesterday at Kibiri forest in Hamisi Sub County.
He noted that most politicians were using the youth to gain political mileage by distracting the eligible voters in a bid to sway their votes.
Akaranga has now called on the security agents to act with speed and ensure the likely politicians and youth are arrested to avert probable violence.
This comes after youth almost disrupted a funeral programme at the home of the late Josphat Suba who was secretary of Maragoli culture society in Vihiga Sub County on Saturday.
