Addressing the press at Kanduyi stadium, Governor Wangamati said funds will be allocated for the same, “The first thing we are doing in this coming financial year is that we are in the process of budgeting for 2018-2019 and we are most likely allocate between Kshs 100 to 200 million for rehabilitating this stadium (Kanduyi) to ensure going forward we have a facility to host a major tournament in Bungoma County,” he said.
He said other stadiums in the County will also be upgraded, “We are looking at facilities across the entire County. We have a stadium in Kimilili, Kabuchai, and this one here in Kanduyi, and by 2022, we want to see that the three stadiums in this County are up to standards and can host any serious tournament in the country,” said the Governor. He further revealed that the County will focus on setting up and improving the volleyball team, given that, top volleyball players in the nation come from Bungoma County and around the region.
