Twenty-six job opportunities for Busia CECs Members and Chief Officers are up for grabs following an advertisement in the daily papers. The CEC positions include Finance, Lands, Water, Health, Public Works, Trade, Agriculture, Education, Culture/Sports and Public Service Management.
The functions of the CEC shall be as per section 36 of the County Government Act 2012. In addition, eligible applicants must meet chapter six of the constitution.
The Chief Officers shall be the accounting and authorized officer in respect of delegated powers. All applications should reach the County Public Service Board on or before 6th September 2017.
Speaking after his inauguration on Monday, Busia Governor Sospeter Ojaamong said the government he will constitute will be centered on service delivery and to push the County’s agenda forward.
Ojaamong said his new government will entirely engage in service delivery, perfect the systems and attract investors. “We need an overhaul to get people who are acceptable and who can supervise our projects.”
He said everybody will be scrutinized to ensure the best get the job. “If you failed in service delivery don’t blame me if you are left out,” he said.
Five CECs in Ojaamong’s first government including Deputy Governor Kizito Wangalwa and CECs Azida Ali, Bernadette Muyomi, Gregory Odeke and Hillary Makhulu resigned.
The others included Dr. Maurice Siminyu (Health), Martin Kafwa (Culture and Sports), Leonard Obimbira (Finance), Matinde Mchuma (Public Service Management), Dr. Moses Osia (Agriculture) and Bernard Yaite (Public Works).
