The High Court of Kitale has held a pretrial hearing on the petition contesting Trans Nzoia Governor Patrick Khaemba’s gubernatorial win in the concluded August polls. The petition was filed by Jubilee competitor Maurice Kakai Bisau and supporters of Governor Patrick Khaemba thronged the Courtroom to get a glimpse of what was happening with security beefed up inside and outside the Court.
The session was presided over by Judge Anthony Murima, and he set out the rules set to conduct the hearing, which is set to commence on 24th October.
Governor Khaemba appeared in Court accompanied by his deputy Dr. Stanley Kenei Tarus and followed proceedings attentively. The Governor’s advocate, Peter Wanyama said the evidence he has will turn the case in the Governor’s favour and he is confident his gubernatorial win will not be annulled.
