Deputy President William Ruto has urged leaders to focus on service delivery, instead of the persistent referendum talk. Speaking in Bungoma County during a tour of the region on Friday, DP Ruto said residents are waiting for service delivery and the current referendum discussion is idle talk. “The people did their part and made up their mind on who was the best to lead them. Now we owe them by ensuring we deliver on our manifesto and not engaging in idle talk,” he said.
Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula said the referendum should be used to help residents instead of reviving the political careers of some leaders. During his tour, DP Ruto launched the Kshs 500 million Teremi-Chwele-Nalondo water supply project which is set to benefit 8,000 residents in the area. It was noted that the government is focused on delivering essential services to people , in the form of a good healthcare system, food security, quality education, good road network, electricity, water provision, and affordable housing.
Accompanied by leaders from the Western region, he addressed residents in Bungoma County, before heading to Kakamega County. He also commissioned the new Kaimosi Teachers Training College in Kaimosi, Vihiga County.
