EACC boss Philip Kinisu has resigned. The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission boss was in the middle of the NYS controversy after his family firm was linked as a beneficiary of the looted Ksh 791 million from NYS. A committee had ruled that a petition against Philip Kinisu had sufficient evidence to have him removed from office.
Speaker Justin Muturi had mandated a National Assembly committee to probe the EACC boss over links to the NYS cash theft. This followed a petition by lawyer Albert Ondieki who wanted the EACC boss ousted after being linked to a company named in the NYS scandal.
Kinisu was accused of receiving lucrative tenders amounting to millions of shillings from the National Youth Service and the lawyer wanted the EACC chairman investigated for failing to disclose this during his grilling for the position.
