The Nandi County Director of Education Mr Lawrence Karuntimi has affirmed that the Ministry of Education is ready to conduct the national examinations. Speaking to West Media in his office, Karuntimi said all the preparations in terms of logistics, transport and deployment of personnel are in order.
The Ministry spent nearly a week from 3rd to 7th September sensitizing and briefing centre managers and supervisors on the procedures in administering exams. “In the next week we’ll be presiding over the designation for invigilators and a thorough briefing of the same will be done,” he said.
He urged candidates to uphold high standards of integrity during the exam period and urged all stakeholders to pray for the students as they prepare to do the exams. He said parents with students attending day schools should ensure they carry out their studies at home, instead of moving to market centres, as was the case last year.
Nandi County has a total of 26,332 registered KCPE candidates in 810 examination centres-13,140 boys and 13,192 girls. KCSE registered candidates are 14,941-7,284 boys and 7,657 girls in examination centres 239 centres. KCPE rehearsals will be held on October 29, and the exam will end on 1st November, while KCSE rehearsals will be held on 2nd November, with the exam starting on 5th November, till 28th November.
