TWO suspected thieves had to dash into a police station to save their lives from angry members of the public who were baying for their blood.

The middle aged suspects had been involved in a spate of crimes at Mugunga village, Lugari district.

The villagers chose to take action after they nabbed the suspects with chicken believed to have stolen from one of the homes yesterday night.

Sensing danger, the suspects who had already slaughtered the birds bolted with a blood thirst crowd on their heels into an administration police station at Pan Paper.

The officers had a difficult moment dispersing the crowd that was threatening to storm the station and accost the suspects.
