Fear gripped passengers at the Eldoret Express booking office in Malaba after a 35 year old man was found dead inside the bus Friday morning.
The early morning incident created tension when passengers were alighting from the bus that had arrived from Nairobi, only for the driver to realize that the last passenger was still sound asleep, a move that prompted him to take a step and check on him. It is said that the driver was stunned when he found out the man was dead.
Confirming the incident, Teso police boss Ephas Korir, said that the deceased, David Kemboi had boarded the Eldoret express bus from Nairobi heading to Malaba initially having been treated from unknown disease.
“There were some drugs inside his pocket and receipt which showed that he had been treated in Nairobi, but the receipt did not show which type of ailment he was suffering from,” explained the OCPD.
Korir revealed that the ID recovered in the deceased’s pocket stated that he was a resident from Mt Elgon District and was working with the BM security company in Nairobi before he met his untimely death.
The OCPD regretted saying it was sad to lose such a young man and called on passengers feeling unwell not to travel, but first seek full medication.
The body was taken to Bungoma district Hospital for post-mortem as police launch investigation on the incident . Switch to Our Mobile Site |
