Deputy Prime minister Musalia Mudavadi has now shown his strong resolve to block Prime Minister Raila Odinga from ascending to State House by urging Kenyans to send to retirement the ODM party leader together with President Mwai Kibaki.

The Sabatia legislator, in a rather break from his humble character, told Nakuru residents during his first rally after he quit ODM that they should not vote for the PM in the coming general elections.

 “As President Kibaki goes into retirement, I also want Kenyans to send Raila to retirement through their vote,” said Mudavadi.

Mr. Mudavadi said that the future of the country lies in the hands of people who are not clinging on the past and crying over it in clear reference to the political journey of the PM Raila.

Mr. Mudavadi also said that it was time for every leader to break loose of the so called political fathers and seek to lead the country and represent Kenyans in whatever positions they wanted.

The sabatia legislator, who is also facing pressure from his former party ODM to quit as the MP, challenged those who had taken him as a coward to rise to the occasion and face him at the ballot.

He noted that he had been mistaken to be weak because of his humble nature when in real sense he is strong.

Those who spoke at the rally all focused on Raila and how they did not want him to be the next president of the Republic of Kenya.

New Ford Kenya party leader and Housing minister Soita Shitanda said Mudavadi was well placed to unite the nation as he possesses the needed qualities.

Mudavadi also got the endorsement of Ikolomani MP Dr. Bonny Khalwale who said he (Mudavadi) is the only unifying aspect in Kenyan politics and leadership.

UDF party members Abdikadir Mohammed and Jeremiah Kioni all said Mudavadi was the link between all generations and that time has come for new crop of leaders.

Abdikadir urged Kenyans to stay in unity insisting tribalism is an obstacle to the nation’s development.

On his part, Shinyalu Mp who has been a close ally of Mudavadi, announced that they are no longer members of ODM.

He told his former party members to stay away from their activities saying they are now busy building their new party.

The Kajiado North ODM Branch chairman also used the chance to announce that he had officially decamped to UDF in solidarity with Mudavadi.

Former Trade minister and Kimilili Mp Dr. Mukhisa Kituyi said it was now time for young leaders to take over the tools of governance.

Mvita Mp Najib Balala, accused Raila of being undemocratic especially inside ODM as a party.

Molo Mp Joseph Kiuna warned that tribal alliances such as GEMA and Kamatusa had no value to the Kenyan people as they are only advancing tribalism.

Earlier, the Deputy Prime Minister attended Sunday service at the Nakuru ACK church where urged the worshippers to vote for him in the coming general elections. 

Among those who accompanied him include MPs Abdi Kadir Mohammed (Mandera Central) Najib Balala (Mvita), Dr. Bonni Khalwale (Ikolomani), Justus Kizito (Shinyalu), Nderitu Mureithi, Jeremiah Kioni (Ndaragua) among other legislators. 

Asst ministers Lee Kinyanjui and George Khaniri were also in attendance. 

Other leaders present included renowned politician Mark Too, former Trade minister and Kimilili MP Dr. Mukhisa Kituyi, former Vihiga Mp Andrew Ligale among other dignitaries present.
