A Kenyan driver was at the weekend buried alive at Tororo Cement factory in Uganda after the clinker he was offloading from a truck poured on him.
It is alleged that Suleiman Odima, 25, from Lugari in Kakamega County met his untimely death when the clinker accidently poured on him as he tried to remove a tarpaulin from the truck.
Sources revealed to west Fm that Odima apparently had not switched off the truck's engine when he went at the rear side of the truck to remove the tarpaulin.
He was later on discovered missing by fellow drivers after he had been blocked from accessing the point where the clinker was to be offloaded.
His body was retrieved after a fork lifter who had come to shift the clinker to the processing machine found him trapped.
His body was taken to Tororo District Hospital and postmortem confirmed that Odima died of respiratory problems.
The driver’s body was transported to Kenya for burial as fellow drivers condemn Tororo Cement Industry management for giving the mater a deaf ear. Switch to Our Mobile Site |
