Residents of Matunda location in Lugari District have expressed their disappointment for lack of a youth polytechnic in the area.
Led by the area coordinator Mark Yakulula the residents said despite the area witnessing various development projects, it has been hard and expensive for their sons and daughters to acquire higher education.
They said that they are normally forced to look for learning institutions in towns such as Kitale and Eldoret which are far away from the area and therefore an expensive undertaking. They are now calling upon the government, other stakeholders in the Education Ministry and well wishers to come on board and salvage the situation.
The establishment of a youth polytechnic would help to serve the entire community so as to help youths get knowledge and skills that will make them dependable rather than chaotic people in the society.
They further said that the area has great resources which when utilized the residents will be a happy lot for they will not need to travel to other places for help.
Such an education facility in the area will create employment opportunities and also reduce vices among the youths. However they thanked the government for making sure schools in the area such St. John secondary are registered and offer quality education. Switch to Our Mobile Site |
