A ten-year-old boy was buried alive in a house he was sheltering in after heavy rain pounded Machungwa area of Saboti division.
Speaking to west fm area chief Mr. Isaac Lusweti confirmed the incident saying that Shadrack Wangila a standard five pupil of Machungwa Primary School met his death Saturday night around 9 pm after his mother left him behind as she was taking his younger brother to sleep in the main house.
Efforts by the locals to save the boy’s life ran futile as the heavy rain continued till morning and lack of appropriate tools hampering the whole process.
The local administrator called upon all those living along the banks of river Sabwani to be very cautious during this rainy season as the river has shown signs of overflowing and may soon break its banks.
Elsewhere a pair of police trousers and jungle jacket was recovered by a herd’s boy in Baraka farm on outskirts of Kitale town.
Confirming the recovery Mr. Lusweti said that a herd’s boy who was herding cattle came across a bag hidden on a lantana fence and on opening the above clothes were found. Switch to Our Mobile Site |
