Youth polytechnics in Bungoma County shall benefit from three more green houses and an incubator partnership with AMIRAN Kenya and the ministry of youth affairs to serve Bitubo, Kababi, kabula, Hedhela youth polytechnic.
District youth training Officer Mrs. Christine Masibo stated that the project shall include both rearing of poultry and planting vegetables, but already Bitubo polytechnic had received one green house earlier.
“Already all polytechnics have received fertilizers, and seeds therefore, the only part remaining is to install the green house by next month,” said Masibo.
The officer noted that the Kabula polytechnic is facing the challenge of electricity to set up an incubator.
The project was initiated to create more income generating activities in the community so that youth may shift their skills to agri-business to equip themselves with modern projects freely in the present world of competition and also to have self employed generation by the year 2030.
