TEACHERS, pupils and education stakeholders from across the Mumias District of Kakamega County will gather in St. Peter’s Mumias boys’ high school Monday to mark this year’s education day as the 2011 KCSE best performers will be announced.

The school hosts the event to celebrate the short life of one of their own, Walter Edwin Maloba who had just joined the school after scoring 372 marks in 2011 K.C.P.E exams died of heart failure.

Subsequently, the same school emerged the best in the County in the exams after trouncing schools like Kakamega High School, Lugulu Girls, and Bunyore Girls in the entire Western Province.

The principal of the school Mr. Godfrey Owour described Maloba who had joined the school as industrious, promising and God fearing

The third born in a family of five who studied at St. Peter’s Mumias primary school and scored 372 out of 500marks had lost his mother in year 2009.

His primary head teacher sister Agnes Maula admitted that the boy had never participated in sports while at school, but liked to watch his fellow students participate in games.
