Criminal investigations officers [CID] in conjunction with Ugandan Police Officers Wednesday Evening confiscated a Ugandan bound truck at Malaba clearing yard.
The truck bearing a registration number KBN 521K belonging to Global Trucks limited which was headed to Kampala from Mombasa was impounded over alleged dept of KSh 100, 000 and returned back to Kenya.
The arrangements to have the truck seized were issued by a clearing firm Times Africa limited with claims of KSh 100,000 from global trucks limited.
Addressing journalist at the Malaba clearing yard, Malaba clearing firm manager Erick Emuria pointed accusing fingers to the transporter Tony Mutwa whom he claimed has declined to clear the dept regardless of continuous reminder.
Emuria also asserted that the driver John Musyoki disobeyed the order by CID officers from Kenya and Uganda to stop the transit and return to Kenya hence prompting the officers to take hold of the truck.
In a quick rejoinder, the driver accused the CID officer who he said wanted him to disembark the vehicle for them to apprehend him saying that he was innocent.
The clearing manager Emuria revealed that the transporter would be compelled to pay KSH 84,000 per day to KRA if he will be found packing at the prohibited yard.
