Lugari District Commissioner Mr. Benjamin Njoroge has made a passionate appeal to newly promoted AP officers attached to the Lumakanda Police station to help build confidence and trust in the department from public.
The DC urged the four officers to display admirable leadership qualities noting that public had developed a lot of trust in administration police officers nowadays.
He warned the officers against indulging in excessive drinking habits and promiscuity blaming the two for previously giving the department a bad name.
“Always learn to respect leaders and more importantly yourselves as your carry out your daily functions,” said Njoroge.
The officers, Mr. George Evans Ogolla, Mr. Moses Mwendwa Philip and Ms. Jackline Samoei, were promoted from the rank of Constables to Corporals, while Mr. Henry N. Bakhoya was promoted from Sergeant to Senior Sergeant in a countrywide exercise.
Addressing police officers during a brief ceremony held for the promoted officers at Administration Police lines in Lumakanda on Wednesday, Lugari District Commissioner Mr. Benjamin Njoroge commended the government for promoting officers in the department to various ranks in recognition of their duties.
“Unlike in the past the administration police department is among those departments that have witnessed tremendous promotions,” observed Mr. Njoroge.
He urged all police officers in the district to continue working hard, diligently and smart while at the same time assuring them that the government had recognized their role in maintaining law and order, thus the promotions.
The DC encouraged junior officers to enroll in short academic courses such as computer studies in order to foster personal development as well as increasing chances for promotion.
Present at the ceremony was Lugari Administration Police Commandant Mr. Joshua Saima and his deputy Mr. Eliud Chemutei. Switch to Our Mobile Site |
