Drama unfolded Thursday evening at St Joseph’s Secondary School of Teso North District, when residents stormed the School and attacked the School Principal before frog matching him to DC’s Office in Amagoro.
The unruly mob led Mr.Oroni Barasa to the DC’s office accusing him of allegedly embezzlement of school funds, oppression of the students and for what they said is deterioration of Education standards ever since he reported to the School.
Confirming the incident, Teso DC Mr. Luis Rono said that the residents brought the head teacher to his officers saying that they did not want him there claiming that he had misused the School funds ,degraded the performance and oppressed their children .
Mr. Rono in conjunction with the District Education Officer Mr. Maina Wangatho referred the embattled principle to TSC Director Busia County Beatrice Lukalo where he was to know his fate.
Rono had a rough time calming the mob which demanded him and the Education Officer Mr. Maina to state why Mr. Oroni was retained and yet the DC had recommended for his transfer last week.
Rono condemned the incident calling upon the residents to allow professionals to do their work without interference.
His words were echoed by Ang’uria South Ward Councilor Moses Otee who cursed the incident asking the community to embrace proper ways of solving scandals without interfering with their children Education. Switch to Our Mobile Site |
