Kakamega High School referred to as the “Green Commandos” dismissed Friends School Misikhu 3-2 to lift the boy’s soccer title as the Western Provincial Secondary Schools Term Two “B” Games ended at Kakamega School.
Misikhu shocked the former national champions when they took an early lead through Ambesta Sikuku, before the victors equalized in the second half via Michael Wandera after he was put through by Arnold Mutsoli.
After a 1-1 full time deadlock both teams went into extra time that did not yield any fruits forcing the two teams to go into post match penalty shoot out to determine the winner.
Kakamega Converted through Esiye Omengo, Sammy Meja and Edwin Mwanzi.
While Misikhu scored via Leonard Aluvale and Arnold Mustsoli.
In the playoff match to determine the third and fourth teams, Mautuma Secondary School defeated Mumias Muslim Secondary School 2-0.
The winners scored through Bravin Lihumi and Nicholas Odhiambo in the 24th and 37th minutes respectively in the mouth watering duel that put the large crowed who turned up to watch the game on calling for more action.
In the Girl's soccer final match, débutantes Ibinzo Secondary School emerged the new champions after they dispatched the East African and National Champions Bishop Njenga Secondary School 1-0.
Ibinzo, who played their hearts out, scored through lethal attacker Cynthia Busala who rounded up the entire defence to ram the ball in the yawning net.
In the Boy's Volley ball finals, Mukumu Secondary School eliminated St Patrick Netima Secondary School 3-0 (25-19, 25-22, 25-20) to emerge victorious. In the playoff matches, Kolanya stopped Mautuma 3-1 (25-20, 23-25, 25-19, 25-20).
During the Girl's Volleyball finals, Malava Secondary School eliminated hard fighting Lugulu Secondary School 3-0 (25-20, 25-23, 25-21). While in the playoff match, Goibei secondary school soaked Busiada 3-0 (25-17, 25-21, 25-19) to become third.
