Kenya is set to host this year’s CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup the tournament that brings together countries from East and Central Africa set to take place in November.
The Football Kenya Federation Chairman Sam Nyamweya said that the federation will partner with the Government and East African Breweries Limited as the main sponsors to make the tournament a success.
Kenya was nominated as hosts during the CECAFA congress and has now confirmed that an organizing committee will be put in place to start the preparations of hosting the event.
The last time Kenya hosted the tournament was in 2009, in relatively empty stadiums with the tourney attracting few fans and in the last edition held in Tanzania, the title was won by Uganda as Harambee Stars were eliminated in the group stages. Switch to Our Mobile Site |
