Residents of Mlimani village of Nzoia location in Likuyani District were treated to a rude shock after a cow belonging to one of them delivered a multi-deformed calf.

The incident occurred at Mzee Stephen Juma Silali’s home whereby his cow delivered a male calf with two heads, three ears, and four eyes and what has shocked area residents more is that the calf had mature and equal number of teeth in both of its two mouths just like those of an adult.

According to Mr. Silali this was the fifth time his cow was delivering and that he had not witnessed any abnormalities in the first four deliveries and that its calf had matured into big heifers. “ I have stayed with this animal for more than ten years and it has calved  four time and in fact  two of its of its offspring have already given birth,” said Silali.

He said the cow was supposed to have given birth early last month but was disturbed when it prolonged its delivery time until Friday morning when it gave birth to the abnormal calf.

“This cow started showing signs of labour on the 2nd of July but since then it has been disturbed by the pain until today,” he added.

He said the animal was unable to deliver by itself and that he was forced to seek help of neighbors who assisted it noting that unlike the normal delivery whereby the head comes out first in this case was different as the rear limbs came out first. However, the calf died a few hours after delivery.
