Kenyan found brutally murdered in Uganda

Ambiguity surrounds the killing of a Kenyan citizen in Uganda, whose body was found Sunday morning a hundred meters from River Lwakhakha   within the border of Kenya and Uganda.

The deceased   Joseph Wekesa, 55, from Kong’ololo village of Teso North District is said to have crossed the border to a drinking place in Uganda on Saturday evening with his son Eliud Wekesa before his body was found the following day with internal bleeding and cuts.

Confirming the incident, the Teso Human Rights Activist Michael Odeke said that villagers found the man’s body lying adjacent to the River with blood oozing from his body.

Odeke said that the deceased’s son is allegedly a well known serial killer with claims that he left his father in the company of other men who were drinking.  However, Lwakhakha Police have apprehended him and he is being interrogated to assist the police with investigations.

“There was no mark at the place where the man’s body was found and  it is believed that he was  killed elsewhere and  dragged to the place or chances are there that he struggled himself with agony  after he was  attacked to the place,” said Odeke.

Ugandan police have released the body and blood sample taken to Mbale District Hospital for postmortem examination. The Kenyan Police have said that they are not involved in the case.
