A young couple who had their first born child six months ago in Kitale is yet to come to terms with a mark the baby was born with.
Born in January this year, the baby had a mark of a full map of Kenya on his stomach identically seen with the colour of the map totally different from the rest of the skin which bears the normal skin color.
Speaking to reporters in Kitale town the mother of the child Jane Achieng Onduto said that the child was also born with four spots on the map believed to be four major towns of this country and white hair on its head.
She revealed that on seeing what their new born baby had come with, she was devastated and feared what people could say about the family and the child and thus were not free to let people have a look at their child for quite some time.
"At first I had a lot of fear because I did not know what exactly the features on the baby meant and I did not want people to see him till I reached a point whereby I wanted to put him on internet for people to view him and may be advise on what it means," said Achieng.
Achieng said that as they were still seeking for answers and interpretations of their child's features they were later advised to reveal the whole situation to the media to have the government and other interested parties like medical experts to come in and give medical and all other sorts of advice to the young family.

However the mother affirmed that the child's health was perfect and had not recorded any complications and is very active apart from the mark and the grey hairs.
Despite the lingering questions in the minds of the parents, the mother however seemed optimistic that her child might be a sign of luck whereby he might become one of the biggest people in this country who will transform their lives completely.
Incidentally the child was named Lucky Onduto even before her parents discovered what he had been born with and the mother could not even explain why she chose that name against the proposal of her husband Peter Onduto who had proposed that the child be named Kevin.
When asked whether their parents had showed any panic and gave their diverse interpretations, the baby's mother said that the parents said they had never experienced such a thing in their clans and were also surprised but remained calm.
Achieng said that due to the marks on the child, neighbors, friends and some relatives have given the child several names of prominence including president and professor with the optimism that he will be a leader or most learned person.
"Whenever I see him I am very happy because I see him as a symbol of hope and I am sure he will one day be successful and take me to another level from where I am because people have started calling him president while others call him professor," noted Achieng.
Despite the confidence that the family has developed with time and accepted their baby to be exposed to the public, they still welcome different government and private experts especially from the medical department to visit them and view the baby and establish if there is any special thing about it or if there is any genetic interpretation or cause.
