St. Antony high school from Kitale holding the trophy the won during the Provinacial ball games before heading to the nationals where they emerged the best.
St Anthony from Kitale defeated Nairobi’s Upper Hill 2-0 in the finals played in Mombasa with goals in each half to emerge the new Kenya Secondary School Soccer Champions taking the title last won by Gekomoni High School from Nyanza.
Meshack Karani scored the first goal on the 30th minute through a penalty kick after St Anthony’s striker was brought down in the penalty area before the second goal that was scored by Kennedy Simiyu in the second half.
Kakamega High School beat Gekomoni 2-1 to finish in third place in the tournament but did not qualify to represent the country in the East Africa secondary school games because only tow tams in this case St. Anthony and Upper Hill will represent Kenya during this year’s edition.
In the girls leg ball West Pokot based Tartar emerged champions after beating St John Kaloleni 5-0 in the finals
