A dark cloud has engulfed Weng'onda village of Senende sub location in Hamisi District after a man, 30, butchered his 60 year old father to death.
According to Pastor James Luyali a cousin to the suspect who has been identified as Morris Karani Otonga, there has been a row between the suspect and the father (deceased) over a house that was erected by one of their relatives and was initially occupied by Morris and his elderly brother.
The said house (Right) is reported to have been demolished by Morris, but when his father questioned the whereabouts of the iron sheets that were removed the roof he turned on him with a panga hacking him to death.
Speaking at the scene area assistant chief Florence Makhaya said that they had received information earlier said that the suspect had become a nuisance to the family as he always confronted his father.
The body of the deceased was taken to Mbale Hospital Mortuary as the suspect is being held at AP cells in Hamisi after he surrendered himself to police. Hamisi’s DO 1 Louis Rono confirmed the incident. Switch to Our Mobile Site |
