An aspiring senator for Kakamega County Bonny Khalwale has asked the electorates from the area to vet those presenting themselves for elective positions before making a decision because County leadership will determine development of the region.
Speaking at Kholera Secondary School in Matungu district in a meeting with the area residents,t he Ikolomani Mp argued that his opponents have nothing to show for the many years they have been in public offices saying that if such leaders are elected, there will be no development in the County.
He also said that transformation of Kakamega into a prosperous County will depend on the kind of leaders elected with their manifestos.
“If elected, my priority will be to invest in technical skills of all spheres to curb the worrying trend of inadequate human resource power in the region,” he said adding that unless opportunities for creating jobs for the youths in the County are made, un employment will still be an issue to tackle.
Khalwale asked the management of Mumias Sugar Company to let cane farmers be at liberty of selling their canes to any place they are willing to depending on the price per tonne offered by this millers and not to insist that all the canes within the Mumias Sugar zone belongs to them.
